The fan codex for the Sisters of Silence is in the work her at Soden Games. And with it in it's early stages, but not quite ready just yet, we wanted to give you a Warhammer Community styled taste of what's to come.
So, what's this going to be. Codex: Sisters of Silence (fan edition) is a fan made codex for Warhammer 40,000. It is our attempt to make the Sisters of Silence into a more cohesivie fighting force. Even more so than during the Heresy. The Psychic awakening saw great rebirth for this faction with Guilliman himself apointing a new Sister-Commander (the big lady in charge) who promisied to bring back the Sisters of Silence to her former glory.
Let's have a look at this lady in question. Sister- Commander Asurma is a power house of a fighting force. Her unique spear (the Umbra Spear) can be both a ranged weapon and melee weapon. It also comes with a fun ability that allows her to lead a lighting assault.
It's nothing to shake a stick* at in melee too. Taking her to strength 7 with 2 damage, going up to 3 damage against Deamons and Psykers. Furthermore, using the spears ranged ability to get you close for an easier charge is even more important thanks to her Lighting Assault rule:
But she just can't hang out by herself. She;s going to need a hand picked group to go with her which is where the unique flavour of this codex comes in. The Sisters of Silence where often picked from the main fighting force for their unique sets of skills and deployed to the battlefield for one set purpose. This group of Sisters, lead by a Centura where called Cadres.
With each of the 4 sub factions in Codex: Sisters of Silence you can pick a different Cadre for the detachment. Each detachment has to be from a different Cadre and each with have a specific focus in game and give you access to a unique secondary objective for that Cadre. Let's have a look at the first Cadre, the Furtive Cadre:

Each Cadre fills a unique play style and the Codex encourages you to take multiple detachments of different Cadres to mix and max the tasks and objectives each of you detachments is there to do.
And don't worry. The Sisters of Silence main force have stayed as elites choices (not a troops choice in sight) but they won't be loosing out on too many Command Points thanks to Cadre Structure:
